In February 2007, rec-tec 'severed all ties" with McHenry Software and rec-tec stated that they would no longer be offering or supporting msmacRT.

We apologize for the quandary created for msmacRT users by rec-tec.

msmacRT was an entry level version of SMAC.

rec-tec requested the arrangement and McHenry Software  agreed to license msmacRT to rec-tec for software reselling to provide an entry level version of SMAC. The reseller agreement included an agreed upon portion of the sales and renewal revenue. McHenry Software kept the software updated (msmacRT and graphics and animation) and McHenry Software has served as a reference point to rec-tec for technical questions about the software.

rec-tec was the primary contact for msmacRT users.

With the severance of all ties by rec-tec, McHenry Software can no longer support the software.

Contact rec-tec for information on what rec-tec is offering as a replacement for msmacRT.

Any use of msmacRT is in violation of the software reselling agreement and must be discontinued.

A recent IPTM paper included many erroneous statements about SMAC. We have prepared a page with quotes and responses as a service to SMAC users. We wouldn't recommend giving IPTM any business for publishing such an irresponsible paper. The paper isn't worth your time. However, if you utilize SMAC, at some point in the future some lawyer may ask you about a quote from the paper.
